What problem does your podcast actually solve?

My Podcast Guy® Newsletter

Here's something I ask every podcaster I work with — and it stops most of them cold.

What business problem does your podcast solve?

Not what you talk about.

Not who your audience is.

What specific friction in your business does your show exist to fix?

Most can't answer it. And that missing answer is costing them more than they realize.

Here's what I've seen work over ten years. The business podcasters getting real results have their show pointed at something specific — like one of these:

Warm up cold prospects. Listeners arrive on sales calls already trusting you. The podcast did the introduction work before the meeting started.

Filter out wrong-fit leads. A show with a clear point of view naturally repels people who aren't a good match — before they ever reach out.

Build authority. Consistent, substantive episodes over time create a body of work your reputation can stand on.

One problem. One show. Pointed directly at it.

Try this today: write one sentence — My podcast solves the problem of [friction] by [what it does for listeners]. Then check your last ten episodes against it.

That single sentence changes everything.

Our clients now focus on the ‘why’ they’re podcasting.

Not on the ‘how’ to podcast.

With personalized consulting from My Podcast Guy®, you’ll discover your “podcast why” to help define your podcast’s core purpose.
